We represent and engineering design firm in a dispute with a Design-Build Contractor arising out of the public - private relationships (P3) that developed the replacement for one of the New York-metro-area's main bridges. The design-build contractor who bid upon this major renovation project with the input of our client, the lead design firm, claims – and our client disputes – that alleged, preliminary design errors resulted in plaintiff’s incurring additional costs in order to address those issues. The parties were unsuccessful in resolving their dispute mediation. They are now involved in litigation.
We represented performance bond sureties in connection with the takeover and completion of several major projects from defaulting contractors.
We represented a client in a matter involving allegations of design negligence exceeding $30 million in damages for delays and cost overruns in connection with the design of a highway/bridge project.
We defended an international architectural and engineering firm against allegations of design negligence exceeding $50 million in damages in connection with the design and construction of a highway/bridge project in New Jersey.

Zetlin & De Chiara represents the team leader/landscape architect of record for the award-winning Living Breakwaters in-water infrastructure and on-shore education and outreach project for Tottenville, Staten Island, in the review and negotiation of its professional service contracts with the NYS Governor's Office of Storm Recovery and its numerous subcontracts and amendments with its ecological and engineering consultants for the project.
We obtained a favorable jury verdict for an internationally acclaimed engineering firm in a trial that lasted over six weeks in connection with the collapse of a public roadways supported by piers at a marine facility.
