Overview
Lorena Sesin-Gutiérrez is an Associate in Zetlin & De Chiara’s New York office.
Lorena represents clients in various construction-related disputes. She has experience with international construction arbitration, litigation, and dispute resolution proceedings.
Prior to joining Zetlin & DeChiara, Lorena litigated multiple national arbitration proceedings during her time at a prominent international law firm in Costa Rica. She prepared and managed the Dispute Board strategy for an international construction company and worked as an Arbitration Clerk for a boutique law firm specializing in international arbitration, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution.
Lorena received a J.D. equivalent degree from the University of Costa Rica, Faculty of Law, and an LL.M from Columbia Law School. As a student at Columbia Law School, she externed at the Narmi and was a research assistant. Additionally, during law school in Costa Rica, Lorena's team won first place overall in the ICC Costa Rica Moot Court Competition and received highest distinction on her thesis “Analysis of the Legal Nature of the Decisions Issued by Dispute Boards and their Development in Arbitration Proceedings”.
