Mixed-Use Development in Detroit

The largest developer in Detroit is building a massive inner-city mixed-use project in Detroit. The one million square foot project includes retail, office, residential and public space. Included in the design is an 800-foot residential tower (Detroit's tallest building) with Detroit's first observation deck. Using design-build principals to modify the typical Design-Bid-Build project delivery system, the project team is negotiating a new paradigm, which hopes to avoid the common pitfalls of other projects. The project is projected to cost $1 Billion.
