Overview
Nicholas J. Kauffman is a partner of Zetlin & De Chiara LLP. Since his admission to the New York State Bar in 1996, he has focused his practice on the construction industry and was previously a partner in the New York City and Chicago offices of a national litigation firm.
Mr. Kauffman represents owners/developers, general contractors/construction managers as well as architects and engineers in complex commercial construction matters. He counsels clients on a multitude of issues including contract drafting and negotiations, risk management and general business strategies, litigation in state and federal courts, mediation and arbitration. Mr. Kauffman also represents clients in OSHA matters as well as Administrative hearings before the New York City Department of Buildings and the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH).
Mr. Kauffman is an experienced lead trial attorney and uses that experience and deep understanding of the construction industry to formulate effective litigation strategies that often help clients reduce their litigation costs and exposure.
