Join New York’s leading developers, builders and union professionals on Thursday, November 2, 2017, from 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM at the Union League’s Lincoln Hall to continue an engaging conversation on union labor in New York, rising construction costs and their impact on building in New York, today and into the future.

All proceeds from this event will be contributed to the New York Building Foundation.

  • The Conversation Continues

At Zetlin & De Chiara’s spring 2017 forum, “The Future of Labor in Construction,” it became clear that general contractors and sub-contractors need to be a greater part of the dialogue concerning New York’s construction labor paradigm. During this continuing conversation, general contractors and subcontractors will join the conversation, envisioning the future of labor in construction and the changing labor force in New York.

The panel, moderated by Zetlin & De Chiara Founding Partner Michael K. De Chiara will examine the state of construction costs, the strategies behind controlling them and how New York City’s owners and developers are seeking more cost-effective ways to build, including labor solutions outside of a unionized workforce. Leading industry experts will also discuss how organized labor has been exploring creative ways to reduce costs and how these savings have been distributed through the different phases of construction.
